When my son was little, one of his favorite books was titled “If You Give a Mouse a Cookie”.                                               

Perhaps you’re familiar with this book.

In short, it’s about a mouse who, when given a cookie to munch on, decides he needs a nice cold glass of milk to go with it.

When he drinks the glass of milk, he ends up with a milk mustache. Which means he needs a napkin to wipe his face.

When he gets the napkin…well, you get the idea.

I’m just back from a relaxing, ten day vacation in Eastern Washington.

While it’s good to be home again, I enjoyed the endless days of beautiful summer weather – perfect for daily bike rides and lazy afternoons by the pool.

In the days prior, as I packed for our trip, I found myself contemplating the question:  “What is enough?”

Would I have enough to wear? Would we have enough to eat? How much is really ‘enough’?

I don’t know about you, but whenever I go away, whether for a week or just a few days, my tendancy is to always pack too much.

Especially if it’s a road trip, because there is always room for one more thing in the car, right? (more…)
